**For both Timberlands and Bower Mall locations.**

Motion Fitness is a full-service club committed to helping our members accomplish their fitness goals and encouraging lifestyle changes one step at a time. We are looking for group fitness and yoga instructors with strong leadership and interpersonal skills who are reliable, team oriented and have a passion for fitness, health, and getting more people moving

**JOB SUMMARY**
The group fitness instructor provides a safe and enjoyable group fitness experience through positive leadership, support, education, and motivation. They are able to teach to all levels of fitness and provide modifications where appropriate, and create a fun experience that keeps members coming back.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provides outstanding fitness class experiences that are safe, inclusive, effective, fun, and follow program guidelines.
- Assists patrons, answers questions, and maintains a positive exercise experience for members and class participants. Develops a rapport with participants and builds positive relationships and community.
- Prepares appropriate equipment and music for each class.
- Keeps management informed of customer and facility/equipment needs.
- Ensures that safety standards are met, and that department and facility policies are adhered to.
- Maintains certifications and participates in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
- Performs related duties as required.
- Subs classes when available, supports the instructor and staff team, and encourages participants to attend other classes offered by the gym and other instructors.

**REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Certified Group Fitness Leader certification (ie: SPRA, AFLCA, CanFit Pro FIS) or equivalent. Yoga instructors are required to have a 200 hr yoga training certification.
- Specialty class certifications are an asset, ie: MOSSA, Zumba, Pound, SoulBody, spin certifications, etc.
- Current CPR C/Standard First Aid certification
- Minimum one year experience as a Group Fitness Instructor (considered an asset)

**KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENT**
- Working knowledge of human anatomy, kinesiology and training principles.
- Knowledge of group fitness teaching strategies and the incorporation of music, tempo, cueing technique, and rhythm.
- Choreography and music skills.
- Ability to be professional, friendly and motivating to class participants.
- Ability to cooperate and work well with other staff members.

**Group fitness instructors must be energetic and able to complete a full workout.**

Pay: $25.00-$45.00 per hour
