We are looking for a motivated **Benefits and Accommodation Specialist **to join our Human Resources team

The **Benefits and Accommodation Specialist **is responsible for managing various aspects of employee benefits, leaves, accommodations, gradual return to work, and communication with internal and external stakeholders; monitors payroll benefit deductions and reconciliations; and revises benefit packages according to employee needs. This role requires a strong understanding of BC Employment Standards Act, BC Human Rights Code, HR policies and procedures, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills in sensitive situations.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Degree or diploma in Human Resources Management or a comparable combination of education and experience is required.
- Rehabilitation and Disability Management is an asset.
- Minimum of 3 years (5+ years is desired) of relevant experience in Benefits, Leaves and Accommodation.
- Knowledge and proficiency in:

- HR issues, practices, and procedures in Benefits, Leaves and Accommodation
- Canadian Human Rights Act, BC Human Rights Code, Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, Accessible Canada Act
- Disability management is an asset.
- Excellent time management by organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines and reduce potential risks.
- Great communication and presentation skill with culture sensitivity among employees, managers, and benefit carriers.
- Strong numerical and basic accounting skills in benefit reconciliation with EXCEL.
- Tactful, discrete, diplomatic, patient, flexible.

**HOURS**:
Full-time position

**BENEFITS**:

- A competitive benefits package is provided with contracts of at least 1 year in length and which offer a minimum of 17.5 hours of work per week_.
