**Role Description**:
The Director of Leasing is a highly qualified individual, with many years’ experience and with a strong understanding of the third party property and asset management business. The Director will assist in developing the overall leasing strategy & implementation and activities for a given portfolio. In addition, the Director will monitor market activity on potential business opportunities. This position reports directly to the Vice President, Leasing.
**Responsibilities**:
- Develop and implement all leasing activities for a given portfolio of properties in accordance with approved budgets and asset plans
- Key leadership role with direct reports, as assigned by VP Leasing.
- Maintain records and have in depth knowledge of various market information including recent market transactions, prospects, space availability, absorption, trends, competitive product, etc.
- Develop a comprehensive leasing strategy for each asset for approval by asset managers
- Ensure marketing activities are carried out in accordance with approved plans and consistent with QuadReal leasing practices.
- Create leasing budgets for the given portfolio
- Build and/or maintain strong relationships with the brokerage community, existing tenants, governmental leasing contacts and others as appropriate
- Coordinating the teams leasing effort with property operations, lease administration, asset management and accounting groups within QuadReal. Work to reinforce QuadReal’s objectives of being a first quality property management and leasing service provider.
- Liaise with other members of the QuadReal leasing team in Vancouver to the collective benefit of our clients, while meticulously adhering to QuadReal’s Conflict of Interest Policy as it relates to lease transactions.
**Education and Qualifications**:
- University graduate preferably in Business or Real Estate
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the field of commercial real estate
- Extensive knowledge and proficiency in the areas of leasing, leases, contracts and financial analysis is essential
- ** Relationship Skills **- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work closely with, develop and sustain strong cooperative working relationships with the brokerage community, tenants, consultants and service providers and all internal groups.
- ** Presentation Skills **- Ability to present ideas and recommendations to asset managers in a clear and organized manner, providing sufficient analysis/market information as appropriate for the occasion
- ** Negotiating Skills **- Excellent negotiating skills throughout the leasing process, consistent with an approach which maximizes Landlord’s objectives.
- ** Organizational/Multi-Task Skills** - Ability to allocate one's time effectively, work under pressure and manage tight deadlines; ability to handle multiple demands, competing priorities, and adapt to new ideas and constant changes; willing to learn and be in a dynamic environment
- ** Decision Making Skills** - Identify and analyze problems; seek direction where required and take informed, decisive actions when needed
- ** Computer Skills** - Advanced skills in Excel and Word
