**Role Responsibilities**:
The Policy Analysts work within the Policy Branch of the Indigenous Partnerships and Strategic Services Division.

**Policy Analyst, Strategic Initiatives**: Reporting to the Director, Strategic Initiatives, you are responsible for providing strategic policy analysis to advance strategic initiatives, such as legislative reviews and expert panels. This position supports the development and coordination of the ministry's strategic initiatives by providing policy analysis and advice, conducting research and analysis, drafting briefing materials and reports, strategic planning, and undertaking other policy and project related activities required in the Strategic Initiatives unit. Work is done in collaboration with ministry divisions, cross-ministry partners, and other external partners as required.

**Policy Analyst, Policy Capacity and Coordination**: Reporting to the Manager, Policy Capacity and Coordination, you are responsible for supporting the coordination of the decision-making process for critical policy and legislative priorities for the ministry. The position also supports legislative and policy initiatives for the ministry by providing coordination support, jurisdictional scanning, and other research and policy analysis as required. This position provides support to Branch management and others to advance ministry, divisional and branch priorities as well as works with colleagues to build policy capacity. In addition, the role participates on internal and cross-ministry committees as required to support the alignment of cross-ministry policy and legislative initiatives.

Your leadership skills and abilities to develop networks will help the Branch to establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. The Policy Analysts will benefit the branch with knowledge of project management and stakeholder engagement. Exceptional organization, writing, and communication skills are required to ensure success in this position.

**Qualifications**:
A University degree (4 years) is required, preferably in a Social Science Arts field (e.g. Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, etc.) or a related field (Social Work, Anthropology, Communication, Cultural Studies, Economics, Geography, History, International Relations, Governance, Social Policy), supplemented by a minimum of two (2) years related working experience preferably in a community based organization, government, or non-profit organization. Equivalencies will be considered.

Experience in government policy and/or program development and working with diverse teams to achieve deliverables is preferred and must be clearly outlined in your resume.

- Social services sector.
- Cabinet decision-making process; and
- Knowledge of government processes.

Your knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures and communities is considered an asset.
