**The Golden Opportunity**

Sunbelt Rentals of Canada is looking for an experienced, knowledgeable, and proactive individual to join us in the role of MOT Services Manager. Reporting to the Sr. Director, DOT Compliance & Transportation Safety, this position will provide accurate and concise governmental regulatory compliance and Company policy and procedural support to all William F. White operational units, specific to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, MOT regulations and policies. This is a full-time, permanent position located in Toronto.

**Responsibilities**
- Perform reviews of applicable motor carrier inspections & violations issued against Company vehicles and drivers to identify root causes & provide recommendations of disciplinary actions where warranted.
- Remain abreast of current transportation industry safety trends and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in integration of mergers and acquisitions.
- Conduct engaged and collaborative site reviews to evaluate and improve operational compliance.
- Continuously monitor compliance metrics to identify and improve performance trends.
- Develop and oversee the implementation and completion of performance improvement plans as required.
- Interpret and implement regulatory and company specific standards, policies, and procedures.
- Provide training, education, and coaching on all areas of MOT compliance as required.
- Champions safety and compliance across all levels of the organization from senior leadership to hourly associates.
- Collaborate with field associates and leadership to understand the needs of the organization and develop the tools and resources to support MOT safety and compliance.
- Seek out industry best practices and more effective and efficient methods to achieve Operational Excellence in Incident Prevention and MOT Trucking Compliance.
- Other duties as required.
- High school education and at least 5 years of working knowledge of MOT compliance.
- A minimum of 5 years of previous managerial/leadership experience.
- Proven professional judgement and temperament to deal with Company personnel and the general public effectively & diplomatically.
- Ability to lead a team (and influence others) while actively displaying integrity, intensity, innovation, and personal involvement.
- Possess strong, hands-on understanding of MOT regulations, including but not limited to:

- Load securement
- Legal weights & hauling allowances
- Over-dimension permitting requirements
- Hours of service regulations
- Commercial vehicle maintenance inspection processes
- Capable of high impact, in the field training and instruction to commercial vehicle drivers on vehicle inspections, loading & unloading procedures, E-Log documentation and overall compliance with MOT and Company policies & Procedures.
- Familiar with a variety of equipment rental industry concepts, practices and procedures
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Fluency in French would be considered an asset.
- The physical demands of this role require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more and working indoors/outdoors when required by the job.
