**We are looking to hire someone on a Casual Permanent Part Time basis**

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for the care and maintenance of all aspects of the community’s physical plant to include maintaining an effective preventative maintenance program at the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the duties and responsibilities of the Maintenance Assistant include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Maintain equipment, building, utilities, and grounds with an adequate preventative maintenance program. Arrange for maintenance contracts as necessary;
- Maintain the emergency power generating equipment along with all fire and life safety equipment and fire drill and safety inspection reports;
- Provide residents and staff with a timely and effective response to service requests;
- Ensure all equipment and systems function properly and safely. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations;
- Maintain proper level of service repair parts for electrical, plumbing, laundry, lighting, refrigeration, HVAC, hardware, locks, batteries, tools, expendable supplies, emergency telephone and security equipment based on past and expected usage;
- Maintain and adjust computerized controls for HVAC and other equipment as necessary;
- Ensure compliance with applicable health and safety requirements;

**Minimum Requirements**
- High School diploma or equivalent in education, training and experience;
- Be able to conduct independent assessments of a contractor’s compliance with requirements of Scope of Work;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products;
- Experience and Safe work practice of common tools (Skill Saw, Hand Drills, Tables Saw)
- Working knowledge of refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and pumping systems.
- Previous experience with drywall repair, painting and patching.

Casual employment up to 16 hours per week

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
Contract length: 3 months
Part-time hours: 16 per week

**Salary**: $20.81-$21.23 per hour
