Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (?POGO?), is dedicated to championing the cause of childhood cancer care in Ontario. We're seeking an experienced Manager, Events and Conferences who is passionate about making a difference and excels at leading impactful events that resonate with our community.

As the Manager of Events and Conferences, you'll take the reins of our diverse and dynamic annual event portfolio. From high-profile fundraising events like the POGO PJ Party to specialized clinical education conferences, you'll be the driving force behind experiences that elevate our brand, deepen community engagement, and deliver top-tier educational content.

This role is perfect for a strategic thinker and a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves solving complex challenges, and has a talent for building meaningful relationships-from engaging volunteers to collaborating with clinical experts.

**Responsibilities**
- Lead the logistics and execution of POGO's marquee fundraising event, the POGO PJ Party, managing everything from vendor relations to on-site event management.
- Manage the logistics and execution of our annual clinical education Symposium and other key events, including securing top speakers, overseeing accreditation, and ensuring a seamless on-site experience.
- Oversee the development, delivery, and evaluation of year-round POGO virtual and in-person educational events and webinars in collaboration with the Clinical Program teams.
- Handle all logístical aspects of event management, including venue selection, vendor negotiations, online registration, and more.
- Approach each event as a project, from initial planning through post-event evaluation, ensuring every detail is meticulously accounted for.
- Recruit, schedule, and oversee event staff and volunteers to ensure they are prepared to deliver exceptional experiences.
- Plan and execute stewardship and community events for POGO donors and partners, working closely with our Development Team.
- Collaborate with our Communications team to ensure that the POGO brand shines across all events.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for POGO team-based events, leading logistics for internal social committee activities, media events, and more.
- Establish success metrics for events and gather feedback to continuously improve future initiatives.
- Research and implement industry trends and best practices to recommend opportunities for growth and expansion of POGO's mission.

**Qualifications**
- A degree or diploma in Event Management, Event Planning, or a related field.
- 7+ years of event management experience, with a strong background in large-scale conferences and fundraising events (250+ attendees). Experience in healthcare education is a bonus.
- Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage budgets and negotiate contracts.
- Proficiency with virtual and hybrid event technologies.
- Strong relationship-building abilities with a variety of stakeholders, including partners and volunteers.
- A creative, resourceful approach with a knack for problem-solving on the fly.
- High energy and enthusiasm, with the flexibility to manage evening and weekend events.
