As the Manager of Payroll Governance & Operations, you are responsible for overseeing and implementing effective governance and compliance practices within the organization's payroll function. This pivotal role demands a profound understanding of payroll regulations, internal controls, payroll accounting, and risk management to ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance in all payroll-related processes.
Your duties also involve collaborating with Payroll operations and financial teams to build and review payroll controls. You communicate key insights to mid-senior leaders and finance partners, as well as engage with wood products, pulp, and corporate stakeholders.
Additionally, your scope encompasses end-to-end payroll management, compliance assurance, post-payroll financial activities, and the effective governance and operations of the payroll system.
**The life of the Manager, Payroll Governance and Operations includes**:
- Governance and Compliance: Develop, implement, maintain robust governance frameworks for payroll operations and ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with Payroll Managers to understand the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
- Design & monitor internal controls to mitigate risks associated with payroll processes. Conduct reviews and audits to assess the effectiveness
- Implement measures to ensure accuracy and integrity of payroll data. Establish data validation processes and regularly audit data for discrepancies
- Compile and examine financial reports associated with payroll. Provide financial information and analysis to facilitate informed decision-making
**For this role, come equipped with**:
- Possession of a post-secondary education degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Knowledge of payroll and payroll accounting principles and practices.
- Experience in payroll accounting.
In an ideal scenario, you also possess a CPA accreditation, Payroll certification (PCP), and familiarity with SAP and/or JD Edwards systems.

The salary range for this position is: $95,500 - $119.500
