**Responsibilities**:
The Research Coordinator will be responsible for supporting research success at the WindEEE Research Facility through the provision of proactive expertise regarding research grant administration. The role will support day-to-day administrative and financial operations, facilitation of WindEEE’s research objectives, through the support of research grant administration, reporting and by ensuring adherence to Western's and the grant’s policies, procedures and requirements related to research administration. The Research Coordinator will coordinate the successful implementation of various large grant reporting projects, and will ensure that the research outcomes are achieved on time and within budgetary constraints. In addition, the role will communicate progress updates to stakeholders and schedule meetings, respond to inquiries related to the research, and support the collection, analysis and dissemination of results.

**Qualifications**:

- Education:
- Undergraduate Degree in a relevant discipline
- MSc or MEng is preferred

**Experience**:
- 3 years of experience in an academic research environment with research administration processes and systems
- Experience in preparing grant reports, research budgets and monitoring accounts preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Project management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously from conception to completion within tightly prescribed timelines
- Familiarity with regulations and guidelines governing research in an academic environment and with best practices for reviewing and writing grant reports
- Ability to ensure expenditures and resources are within allotments, and to make appropriate modifications when required
- Familiarity with financial principles and budgeting
- Familiarity with techniques for updating, managing and extracting data from research related portals, both administrative or data repositories
- Verbal communication skills to clearly express ideas in an objective manner, and adapt communication style to suit the situation and audience
- Communication skills with an ability to complete detailed analytics and reports
- Professional manner, tact, diplomacy and discretion in dealing with associates and colleagues including senior management
- Ability to work in a manner that models best practices in confidentiality standards
- Attention to detail and proofreading abilities with an excellent command of the English language
- Ability to work within a flexible schedule to accommodate the WindEEE Research Facility’s events and activities
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to investigate defined issues, solicit input, and suggest remedies and alternative approaches that meet the needs of the situation
- Proven ability and natural inclination to develop relationships by interacting with people in a professional, respectful and diplomatic manner
