Qualifications:
**Essential**:

- Post secondary degree in social services preferred, business or other related fields will be considered. Business and/or administrative training and extensive work experience is required. An equivalent combination of education/training with related experience may be considered.
- Supervisory experience including managing staff and providing direction and leadership to a service delivery team.
- Experience working with highly sensitive information/material in a confidential and professional manner.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience proof-reading, editing and formatting correspondence and reports with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to anticipate needs, take initiative and work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational and decision making skills, with the ability to independently manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to facilitate working relationships with staff at all levels of government as well as the public using tact and diplomacy.
- Knowledge of filing systems.
- Knowledge or experience with sales of other basic financial processes.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook and similar programs.

**Desired**:

- Knowledge of government administration and policies and procedures.
- Experience in Child Welfare system including an understanding of the CFS Act and Regulations and Standards.

**Duties**:
The incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and management of a team that functions based on two distinct legislated work processes. This includes coordination and assignment of work, direct supervision and all Human Resource functions/roles. The incumbent must be knowledgeable with respect to the CFS Act as well as other pieces of legislation and have the ability to ensure compliance regarding the access and release of information. The Associate Registrar must identify gaps, challenges and implement solutions to ensure quality of service delivery to the public, including key partners and various consumer groups. The Associate Registrar engages in strategic planning to determine gaps and ways to improve service delivery processes/models and they are expected to meet unanticipated needs due to workload volume pressures caused by external consumers. The incumbent must be responsive to consumer demands and may at times have to initiate special projects or work diversion strategies.
