**Your opportunity**:
Under the general direction of the Assistant to the Dean of Students, Student Life and working collaboratively with professional staff, students and faculty members across the College and the University, the Coordinator, Student Community Development is responsible for the planning and implementation of community building and wellness programming for University College students - with a primary focus on off-campus students, international and first-generation students. The Coordinator, Student Community Development works to build strong connections and constructive relationships with student groups and student organizations at the College in the work they do.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Liaising with internal and external contacts to coordinate execution of seminars and workshops
- Fostering and maintaining networks to build capacity and collaboration
- Promoting events and programs to students
- Advising student groups on the development of clubs and societies
- Providing advice and support to students and mentors on program delivery matters
- Screening and making referrals to appropriate resources and services
- Assigning and checking the work of work-study students

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's Degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum two (2) years in student life programming, preferably in a college or university setting.
- Experience working with student government.
- Experience in developing and delivering workshops aimed at student development and wellbeing.
- Experience with executing events and handling of event expenses.
- Experience in directing casual staff members.
- Experience using web based programs to promote events.
- Experience in building networks and communities both in person and online.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills in: MS Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint), E-mail (e.g. Outlook), electronic calendar organizer (e.g. Outlook), social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.), Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Creative Suite, Drupal/WordPress or similar content management systems.
