Mohawk College is currently recruiting for our next

**Professor, Business Systems**

Under the direction of the Associate Dean, Professors in this department are responsible for providing academic leadership for developing an effective learning environment.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The duties of this position will include, but are not limited to the following:

- Creating a positive and innovative student-centered learning environment in both the classroom and laboratory settings.
- Using a variety of teaching strategies most appropriate for the curriculum.
- Using a variety of techniques to evaluate student achievement of learning outcomes.
- Managing the educational environment to facilitate an optimal learning experience and student success.
- Evaluating, revising, and developing learning resources within the program.
- Enhancing educational delivery and experiences through the use of technology to facilitate student learning.
- Using the college’s learning management system to present curriculum, testing and online activities.
- Delivering a mix of courses that are online, hybrid, and in person depending upon operational work assignments.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
The successful applicant must have:

- Possess a student-centric attitude toward instruction at both an introductory and senior level and the ability and interest in mentoring students.
- Experience teaching at the post-secondary level (college or university) is strongly preferred.
- Five or more years of industry experience (non-academic) is preferred.
- Experience in conducting independent research is preferred, as there will be an expectation in the role to develop and engage in original applied research.
- Work inter-culturally with diverse groups of students, employees and the community.
- Ability and interest in developing, maintaining, and enhancing course materials to remain current with future industry standards.
- Knowledge of basic networking, software development, Object Oriented Analysis and Design, and Relational Database & Design.
- A working knowledge of the health care system and business environments in Ontario.
- The ability to teach a variety of undergraduate computer science classes including courses in general networking, programming, object-oriented systems, project management, and cloud computing.
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity and inclusion with the ability to communicate and work effectively inter-culturally with diverse groups of students, employees and the community.
