**Job Summary**:
The Program Worker supports the implementation of a women’s project in CultureLink’s Special Projects Department. This women’s project has 2 objectives: 1) to remove systemic barriers that hinder immigrant women to influence decision making and policies at one of the large school boards; and, 2) to increase democratic activities and/or influence of change by immigrant mothers with children enrolled at one of the large school boards. This is a community building project that works towards systemic change through a non-partisan public campaign.

The Program Worker supports implementing the Gender Based Analysis Plus (GBA Plus) on a school board decision making level, building community consent on the GBA Plus recommendations; and implement GBA Plus community recommendations. The Program Worker will be a key member in a team with Project Manager and Researcher. The Program Worker will implement: activities organizing the systemic change around GBA framework; building a community mobilizing team and the administrative/documenting duties of this project.

In-person and online duties will be required, depending on public health conditions. The Program Worker must be proficient with technology and online tools (for example Zoom, MS Teams, Google Meets), and able to support clients to participate using technology and online tools. The Program Worker works out of an office space and in the community. Some work on evenings and weekends will be required.

Maintaining positive relationships with the stakeholders, ethno-specific service providers and other partners, support staff and CultureLink colleagues is essential to program success. All agency staff are also expected to support each other and to collaborate on agency-wide initiatives.

**Duties**
- Recruit participants from target groups
- Setting up collaborative meetings with stakeholders and community partners
- Use GBA Plus lens to identify how systemic barriers hinder immigrant mother’s participation in the decision-making process at one of the school boards
- Participate in the organizing actions to enable the increase of democratic activities carried out by immigrant women
- Organize participatory GBA Plus and collect feedback
- Compile community consensus and immigrant women/parents’ order of priorities
- Engage in building a community mobilizing team
- Assist with the process of policy development and motions preparation
- Organize and/or facilitate skills development sessions for participants on social media and other skills as needed
- Organize registration of participants, prepare promotional materials, publicize events, and summarize lessons and impacts of the project
- Along with other team members, work with 3rd party evaluator in the development and tracking of project result indicators
- Meet with clients to follow-up and assess their progress, give support and discuss any challenges
- Monitor digital/social media campaign(s) and produce periodic reports
- Complete entry into database system used in CultureLink
- Other duties as assigned

**Required Work Capacities/Competencies**
- Physical demands: sitting at a desk for computer work (50% of the workday) and meetings; lifting (files, laptop, and program supplies up to 5 kg); working in an open office
- Non-physical demands: travel between worksites; monthly deadlines; variety of tasks
- Social/emotional demands: teamwork; relationship/network-building; exposure to emotional situations; working closely with the public, clients and colleagues
- Cognitive/mental demands: attention to detail; self-supervision/autonomy; multitasking; organizational ability/time management, adaptability, sound judgement, effective written communication

**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary program or graduate degree in a relevant field or a combination of equivalent experience and education
- Three years of community work and outreach experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English is vital

Demonstrated skills working with multiple tasks within tight timelines
- Good grasp of the School Board voting procedures and understanding of community mobilization
- Campaign experience is an asset
- Sensitivity and understanding of diversity, inclusion and equity practices
- Experience working with immigrant women
- Advance skill
