Reporting to the Manager System Operations, this position ensures seamless day-to-day operations at the System Operations Center (SOC) by efficiently utilizing resources. This role emphasizes outage scheduling, policy creation, and training coordination.

What You Get to Do:

- Champion a safety-first culture within ATCO Electricity and consistently exemplify best HS&E practices.
- Oversee and guide the training of new System Operators.
- Manage the System Operator Training program in collaboration with the Training Coordinator.
- Update and maintain Operating Procedures and Agreements.
- Lead the System Scheduling Team in coordinating outage requests.
- Be a proactive advocate for change, promoting process and technological improvements.
- Address daily operating challenges, escalating when necessary.
- Ensure business metric targets are consistently met.
- Collaborate with team leads to adhere to Health, Safety, and Environment corporate policies.
- Manage labour relations, working with HR and association representatives to address issues.
- Provide leadership in coaching and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with company, governmental, and industry standards among employees and contractors.
- Report, document, and act upon incidents and near misses, escalating when needed.
- Ensure team compliance with AESO Rules, ARS, and CIP Standards.

Qualifications:

- Journeyman Powerline Technician, related Technology Diploma, or Post-secondary degree.
- Prior experience with the Bulk/Non-Bulk Electrical System is advantageous.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- NERC Certification is an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook
- Demonstrated conflict management abilities.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
