The Ministry of Indigenous Relations works with Indigenous communities, the federal government, industry and other stakeholders to support strong, vibrant Indigenous communities and people who fully participate in a prosperous, competitive and diverse Alberta. The ministry is also responsible for:

- Promoting social and economic opportunities for Indigenous peoples
- Co-leading Indigenous training for all Alberta public servants
- Working with other ministries to develop opportunities for Indigenous peoples to influence land and resource management decisions.

This position is being recruited to the Metis Relations branch. The branch leads the Employment Partnerships Program, which provides funding to Indigenous Skills and Employment Training Program agreement holders for Indigenous workforce development.

Join our dynamic team, where you’ll take a lead in delivering the Employment Partnerships Program (EPP). The EPP provides funding with the aim to connect Indigenous people to employment and increase participation in the workforce. The EPP provides approximately $4.5 million in grants annually to support Indigenous employment and training initiatives.

Reporting to the Director responsible for the EPP, the Employment Partnerships Advisor will provide leadership, coordination and expertise both internally and externally in support of the activities of the unit. Working with a small team, the Advisor will work with cross-ministry partners and external stakeholders on initiatives to increase workforce participation of Indigenous people in Alberta. The Employment Partnerships Advisors are responsible for delivery of the program from our Call for Proposals to working with grant recipients on deliverables. The team is also responsible for project management, development of work plans, strategies, and performance measures on the EPP.

- Experience with grant delivery/administration/management.
