Under the supervision of the Accounting Technician II/III, the Clerk B is responsible for the performance of daily bank deposits, preparing and processing financial transactions including preparing and posting simple journal entries, maintenance of office supplies, additional clerical support where required and maintenance of files and records associated with the Finance division of Winnipeg Parking Authority.

**As the** **_Clerk B - Finance_** **you will**:

- Prepares daily bank deposits and reconciles with T2 System.
- Enters data into various spreadsheets utilizing Excel.
- Prepares or processes and maintains documents, records, and financial transactions.
- Prepares and inputs journal entries into PeopleSoft General Ledger module.
- Enters various payments into and updates customer accounts in T2 System as required.
- Receives on all purchase orders and sends out all invoices to Corporate.
- Maintains daily transit ticket and bus pass inventory.
- Orders all necessary office supplies. Assists with furniture purchasing.
- Processes journals for the interdepartmental purchases of Scratch Meter Coupons.
- Maintains records of all parking payroll deductions on a regular basis.
- Drafts and sends letters regarding NSF cheques and declined credit cards.
- Acts as Petty Cash custodian.
- Matches Parking Meter tape receipts to daily Parking deposits.
- Organizes meetings and prepares minutes as requested.
- Liaises with property manager regarding access cards, repairs, cleaning and other office services.
- Provides minimum backfill to the Administrative Assistant to the General Manager of Winnipeg Parking Authority during vacation and other absences
- Performs other duties and administrative duties consistent with the classification, as required

**Your education and qualifications include**:

- High school graduate with formal training in business including accounting, purchasing, accounts payable or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One (1) year experience in a clerical role performing basic accounting and/or finance functions.
- Strong computer skills and proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Ability to attain proficiency on the T2 and PeopleSoft Finance programs within 3 months.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal effectively and courteously with the public and internal clients, in varying circumstances, both in person and over the telephone.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to problem solve and exercise sound judgment.
- Ability to maintain accurate files and records.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization, and external contacts.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
