The Clerk B - Workers Compensation Clerk, under the supervision of the Health Resource Specialist, is responsible for all work support assignments, including the preparation of all forms and processes for Workers Compensation, research, statistical analysis and maintenance of WCB files.

**As the **_Workers Compensation Clerk _**you will**:

- Prepare all Workers Compensation forms and forwards copies to the appropriate departments.
- Enter all time off related to Workers Compensation into People Soft.
- Enter injury report data into the Health and Safety Module on the PeopleSoft system.
- Update Monitor Health module in PeopleSoft to reflect workplace WCB accommodations.
- Perform the timekeeping function for the assigned area by obtaining information from supervisors/foreman.
- Enter timekeeping information for assigned area into People Soft.
- Provide external agency with appropriate employee scheduling information.
- Provide external agency with required medicals related to WCB claims.
- Prepare WCB time loss reports.
- Address HR Timekeeping inquiries.
- Manage exceptions in PeopleSoft.
- Reconcile the Firm Experience Statement and prepares journal entries.
- Balance attendance records for Workers Compensation related files.
- Responsible for year-end activity relating to WCB claims.
- Reconcile outstanding unapproved time loss using database.
- Reconcile outstanding and approved time using database.
- Type reports and correspondence, as required.
- Maintain all records and files for Workers Compensation claims for the department.
- Provide coverage to the Safety Clerk upon request and for vacation coverage to establish and maintain records for the Safety Branch.
- Perform other related duties consistent with the position as assigned.

**Your education and qualifications include**:

- Completion of high school grade 12/G.E.D. graduation, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Knowledge of the People Soft timekeeping system is a preference.
- Demonstrated strong organization skills with the ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities, work efficiently and ensure all deadlines are scheduled and met.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records and files.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with matters discretely.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization, external contacts and the public, in accordance with the Respectful Workplace Standard.
- Good working knowledge of the City of Winnipeg’s Collective Agreements.
- General knowledge of the Water and Waste Department’s functions.
- Ability to learn various other microcomputer software programs, including PeopleSoft within a reasonable period of time, as required for the position.
- Familiar with a variety of standard office equipment (e.g. photocopier, fax, etc.)
- Ability to perform miscellaneous clerical tasks consistent with the classification, as may be required.
