Job Summary
We are looking for a collaborative, dynamic and highly organized Human Resources Consultant with extensive professional generalist HR experience in creating, implementing and enhancing employee and people practices critical to the success of small
- and medium-sized business. This role will support Sixth Sense clients in a variety of industries, primarily focused on professional and technical services, engineering and private health care. You are the right fit for this role if you practice HR with compassion, respect and authenticity, with the intent to work closely with our small and tight-knit team on projects on a flexible basis. This position can be set up as casual employment or third-party contracting depending on your interests and circumstances.

**Location**: Edmonton, AB (remote work options available)

**What You Bring to the Table**:

- Bachelor of Commerce specializing in Human Resources from a recognized postsecondary institution, or equivalent.
- 10+ years of progressive operational and strategic HR experience.
- Prior consulting or in-house generalist experience for small
- or medium-sized businesses would be considered an asset.
- CPHR designation in Alberta would be considered an asset.
- Extensive knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards and other employment legislation.
- Experience working in a unionized environment and managing collective agreements would be considered an asset.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Strong commitment to professional and high-quality client service with an emphasis on creative problem solving and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently (self-motivated) as well as collaborate with a team.
- Expert written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organization and time management skills with a project management mindset.
- Positive, energetic flexible and adaptable attitude.

**What You’ll Do**:

- Learn the ins and outs of Sixth Sense clients’ businesses and employees to provide intentional and professional HR expertise and support as our clients’ business grows and changes.
- Deliver HR consulting services with the intent of continuous improvement and elevation of clients’ current HR operations.
- Identify and act upon opportunities for growth and development of HR consulting support with existing clients, in collaboration with the Sixth Sense team.
- Collaborate with the Sixth Sense team on the creation, execution and implementation of project-based client deliverables as well as ongoing strategic HR advisory services such as: Workforce planning, organization structure and job descriptions, Critical employment documents, templates and data management, Policy, procedures, manuals and handbooks, Full-cycle talent acquisition, Performance and development tools and coaching, Employee engagement activities, Compensation and benefits reviews, Legislation compliance, interpretation and risk management, HR, leadership, management and employee coaching.
- Find and implement creative technology-based solutions for clients such as HR software, apps, applicant tracking databases and project management tools.
- Analyze and interpret HR data to assist clients in making informed data driven decisions regarding their workforce.
