**About Us**
The **Institute for Advancements in Mental Health (IAM)** is a non-profit charitable community organization committed to supporting individuals, caregivers, and communities affected by serious and chronic mental health challenges. We design programs around the needs of people with complex mental health needs and their support systems—putting people first, not diagnosis or illness.

IAM is a connector, collaborator, and thought leader in the mental health space, driving meaningful change through partnerships and innovation.
**Position Overview**
This role is responsible for **leading and managing** all aspects of the organization’s marketing and communications strategy, including branding, fundraising, media relations, social media, website management, and internal/external communications. The **Marketing & Communications Manager** will drive **strategic initiatives**, manage communication campaigns, and oversee the execution of marketing strategies to promote the corporate brand. As the **point person for all communications efforts**, this role will report directly to the CEO and collaborate with senior leaders and staff to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
**Key Responsibilities**
**1. Leadership & Strategy Development**
- **Lead** the development and execution of comprehensive marketing and communications strategies.
- Oversee the execution of national brand awareness campaigns, ensuring all communications are aligned with the organizational vision and mission.
- Work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to **support strategic initiatives**, provide insights, and drive communications projects.
**2. Corporate Communications & Brand Management**
- Develop and implement communication plans to promote IAM, services, events, and programs.
- **Manage** the production of all key communications materials, including annual reports, press releases, newsletters, and online content.
- Ensure brand consistency and quality across all platforms (print, digital, social media, etc.).
- **Oversee** the Website and day-to-day operations of the website and ensure content is up-to-date and aligned with the brand’s messaging.
- **Lead** media relations efforts, including drafting media materials, managing media inquiries, and maintaining a media contact database.
**3. Fundraising & Government Relations Support**
- Work with the fundraising team to create communication strategies for donor outreach, including writing solicitation letters, creating digital campaigns, and drafting stewardship materials.
- **Support government relations efforts** by preparing communication materials for policy advocacy, position papers, and attending related events as required.
**4. Event Promotion and Marketing**
- Take a leadership role in promoting organizational events, such as; webinars, donor events, both in-person and digital.

- **Manage** internal communication channels to ensure staff are informed and engaged with organizational updates, initiatives, and program developments.
- Work with the leadership team to ensure consistent communication across the organization.
**6. Independent Work & Time Management**
- **Proven ability to work independently**, handling multiple priorities, and delivering high-quality work with attention to detail.
- **Consistently meet deadlines** and manage competing priorities effectively, ensuring all communications materials are completed on time and in alignment with organizational goals.
**Skills, Education, and Experience**
**Education**:
- University degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
**Experience**:
- Minimum of 4+ years in a **marketing/communications role** (experience in the non-profit or charitable sector is a plus).
- Proven experience **creating and implementing** successful communications strategies independently.
- Expertise in digital marketing, social media management, and content development.
- Experience with media relations, public speaking, and high-level communications strategy.
- Strong fundraising communication skills, including donor stewardship.

- Strong **independent work ethic**, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines without direct supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day operations.
- Creative thinker with a passion for mental health advocacy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and design tools like Adobe Suite, Canva, or similar.
