- This position is responsible for planning, organizing, controlling, and evaluating health records coding, clinical information analysis and coding education corporately, in accordance with established practices, legislation, hospital policies, rules and regulations and to meet the overall objectives of the Health Records Department and the Ottawa Hospital.- The incumbent will lead a team of specialized HIM-certified staff and build processes, skills, and relationships to improve health data capture, coding, data quality, reconciliation with health information systems data analysis and reporting. This critical work will inform decision makers, stakeholders, funding bodies, researchers, and many others about the care being provided to patients and resources expended to do so at The Ottawa Hospital.- The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the quality of the data being submitted to CIHI, the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, and Cancer Care Ontario Within their own team, the Manager, Coding & Data Quality applies learning and accountability consistent with a just culture, providing staff with written instruction on safety precautions where appropriate, ensuring that staff adhere to standards of safe work and patient care, and closing the loop on staff and patient safety issues to ensure continuous improvement.**Anticipated start date: June 1, 2023**

**What you will bring**:
- Four (4) year Undergraduate degree in Health Information Management from a CCHIM-recognized program with active certification;
- Certified Health Information Manager (CHIM) through the Canadian College of Health Information Managers or equivalent designation through the American Health Information Management Association o Active member of Canadian Health Information Management Association with currency in CPE (continuing professional education credits) as required;
- Five (5) years of leadership experience in a health information department and/or patient registration or health care system in a mid-size to large organization;
- Two (2) years’ experience in, or collaboration with, health information management services in a mid-size to large organization;
- Demonstrated skill in systems and data analysis, statistical techniques and presenting data;
- Strong leadership ability to collaborate, engage teams and execute on action plans;
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (oral & written to effectively communicate information to all levels of staff;
- Demonstrates TOH values in their work and interpersonal relationships o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills in dealing with fluctuating deadlines and priorities;
