**Code Specialist**

Within the context of model building and fire codes, you will be asked to develop alternative solutions and measure relative compliance with prescriptive measures. This is a client facing role that requires excellent communication and project management skills.

**Your role within the team**
- Investigate and report on building and fire code compliance of new and existing facilities.
- Evaluate buildings and designs for fire resistance and enclosure integrity.
- Produce building evacuation plans and conduct egress analysis and modeling.
- Prepare detailed design calculations and layouts for fire protection systems.
- Coordinate with other disciplines in planning and executing project tasks.
- Represent the fire protection discipline within SNC Lavalin and in the development of external clients.

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in the field of engineering or a diploma in fire protection engineering technology.
- P. Eng in at least one Canadian province. Multiple provincial licenses would be an asset.
- 5-10 years of experience in code consulting or fire protection engineering.
- Experience with Nuclear facilities is an asset.
- Ability to cross over multi-disciplinary projects.
- Valid driving permit.
- Good organizational skills.
- Collaborative approach and good communication skills.
- Bilingualism French and English (written and spoken) is an asset.
