**Event Coordinator**
- Do you enjoy planning projects from beginning to end? _
- Can you juggle organizing multiple events simultaneously? _
- Are you interested in being part of a dynamic team involved in events dealing with a cross-section of important issues? _

**What You Will Do**
- Organizing event logistics including registration, communications, speaker management, technical support, catering, graphic design, and customer service;
- Obtaining quotations, hiring and managing reliable subcontractors for events, including venues, hotels, caterers, cultural performers, Elders, and technicians;
- Communicating with other VGN-Mahihkan staff and contractors to ensure that deliverables for the events are provided in a coordinated manner, including facilitation, notetaking, translation and report writing;
- Helping projects stay within budgets and meet deliverables in workplans; and
- Performing other administrative duties as required.

**Essential for the Position**
- Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities to meet changing demands and circumstances;
- Having a desire to improve the quality of our services and willing to help anticipate, identify and resolve potential issues and problems;
- Motivated to participate in self-improvement and learning opportunities;
- Willingness to travel throughout Canada on assignments, as required; and
- Living in the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia.

- An annual salary that is competitive with industry standards;
- 3 weeks paid vacation per year;
- Paid time off for all statutory holidays and other protected time off per the BC Labour Code;
- Paid time off for all non-statutory holidays between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day;
- An extended health benefits plan, paid 50% by VGN-Mahihkan, following three-month probation period;
- A notebook computer; and
- A cell phone and communications allowance.
