**Overview**: We seek a dynamic and resourceful individual to fill the full-time Grant Writer/Fundraiser/Administrative Assistant role for our Indigenous marine search and rescue non-profit organization in Port Coquitlam, BC. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by securing funding, cultivating donor relationships, and providing essential administrative support to advance our mission.

**Responsibilities**:
**Grant Writing**:

- Research funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other sources to support our organization's programs and initiatives.
- Writing persuasive grant proposals and reports tailored to each funding opportunity's requirements, highlighting our organization's impact and goals.
- Managing the entire grant lifecycle, including prospect research, proposal development, submission, and grant compliance.

**Fundraising**
- Developing and implementing fundraising strategies to diversify revenue streams and support organizational sustainability.
- Cultivating relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and philanthropic partners through stewardship activities, donor communications, and outreach efforts.
- Planning and executing fundraising events, campaigns, and appeals to engage supporters and raise funds for our organization's initiatives.
- Tracking and reporting on fundraising activities, donor contributions, and revenue goals to inform strategic decision-making.

**Administrative Support**:

- Providing administrative assistance to ensure the efficient operation of our organization, including managing correspondence, scheduling meetings, and maintaining records.
- Assisting with donor and grant database management, including data entry, gift processing, and donor acknowledgment.
- Supporting event planning and coordination, including logistics, volunteer recruitment, and attendee communications.
- Collaborating with team members to streamline processes, improve systems, and enhance organizational effectiveness.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as nonprofit management, fundraising, communications, or public administration.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit administration, preferably in the Indigenous or environmental sector, is required.
- Proven track record of successfully securing grants, donations, or sponsorships from diverse funding sources.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to craft compelling grant proposals, fundraising appeals, and donor communications.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to cultivate relationships and engage stakeholders effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with fundraising software or databases is preferred.
- Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, marine search and rescue operations, and the nonprofit sector in Canada is an asset.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
