Empire life is looking to hire an Actuary to join our Risk Management team

**What you’ll be working on**- Lead the development, execution and analysis of complex actuarial projects, processes and models to support the functional area and achieve business goals and objectives- Lead research and analysis and provide advice on risk management and actuarial issues, methods and solutions to support business strategy development- Provide support and guidance to team members in delivery of departmental projects and process efficiencies- Effectively communicate, collaborate, influence and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the development and delivery of risk management and actuarial programs- Continue professional development including business knowledge development to support career progression and role competency in sustaining the company’s pool of actuarial resources

**What we’re looking for you to have**:
- Advanced mathematical and programming skills- Advanced research, analysis and decision-making skills- 8 - 10 years of relevant work experience in the insurance/financial services industry with Risk Management experience as an asset- Completion of or working towards FSA and FCIA designation- Advanced working knowledge of spreadsheet, database and word processing software-
- Completion of a university degree with courses in mathematics, economics and/or business- Strong written and verbal communication skills- Ability to develop and negotiate innovative solutions- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage competing priorities- Proven ability to provide guidance and share knowledge while leading a small team effectively**Beyond the salary**:

**Vos responsabilités**
- Diriger l’élaboration, l’exécution et l’analyse de projets, de processus et de modèles actuariels complexes pour soutenir le secteur fonctionnel et atteindre les buts et les objectifs de l’entreprise.
- Diriger la recherche et l’analyse et fournir des conseils sur la gestion du risque ainsi que les questions, les méthodes et les solutions actuarielles pour soutenir le développement de la stratégie d’entreprise.
- Fournir du soutien et des conseils aux membres de l’équipe pour la réalisation des projets du service et l’efficacité des processus.
- Communiquer et collaborer efficacement avec les intervenants internes et externes, ainsi qu’influencer et gérer les relations avec ceux-ci afin de soutenir l’élaboration et l’exécution de la gestion du risque et des programmes actuariels.
- Poursuivre son perfectionnement professionnel, y compris celui de la connaissance des affaires, afin de faire progresser sa carrière et ses compétences dans ce rôle et de maintenir le bassin de ressources actuarielles de l’entreprise.
