Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Operations, Advancement and Communications, the Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) Coordinator will work closely with faculty, students, and staff as well as campus partners to develop and implement programs, and provide consultation on curricula, with the goal of promoting equity, diversity and inclusion in the Faculty of Education.

The EDI coordinator will create opportunities to develop a sense of belonging within the Faculty of Education and larger Queen’s community. They will work closely with campus partners and stakeholders to promote, implement, and enhance programs that promote diversity and inclusion among Bachelor of Education students, graduate students, faculty, and staff.

**Job Description**:

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Student Support and Transition**
- Develop, implement, and coordinate the planning and delivery of programs and services for underrepresented students and, in particular, plan the development, expansion and enhancement of opportunities for peer engagement and community building.
- Organize and deliver events and activities for all students that promote inclusion and diversity in the Faculty of Education.

**Curriculum Development**
- Provide curricular advisory support for full-time faculty, continuing adjuncts, and graduate teaching fellows around I-EDIAA.
- Lead the coordination of I-EDIAA workshops, lectures, and events, including developing, scheduling and promoting.
- Coordinate data collection and performs data analysis to evaluate options and outcomes for new and existing projects that promote I-EDIAA initiatives; perform research, conduct data queries, and analyze/interpret information to support recommendations for action.

**Outreach/Training/Awareness**
- In collaboration with the Human Rights and Equity Office, develop and/or deliver, and evaluate training for faculty, staff, instructors, and students related anti-racism, equity, and inclusion including addressing the intersections of multiple identities (e.g., race, culture, disability, age) in partnership with campus partners.
- Coordinate the development of initiatives including awareness campaigns aimed at increasing visibility for underrepresented students and enhancing a campus culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion for students.
- Other duties as required in support of the Faculty of Education

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A Master’s degree in Education is required with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Academic background in social justice, anti-racism/anti-oppression, and equity/diversity/inclusion. Experience working with students in equity-seeking groups including but not limited to students who are Racialized/Visible Minority, LGBTQ+, with disabilities, and/or Indigenous.
- Experience in student education, leadership and/or development; planning and implementing educational programs, volunteer programs, or similar activities.
- Knowledge of the needs and experiences of undergraduate students and direct experience working with students in a post-secondary setting.
- Experience in advising, coaching and/or educating young adults or post-secondary students.
- Familiarity with university resources and other resources available to students.
- Satisfactory Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening required.
- Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
