The Graduate Advanced Training and Entrepreneurship (GATE) Centre at the University of Regina is seeking a dynamic and creative individual to join us in making a mark on student development as our new **Events and Special Projects Coordinator.**

GATE Centre is a newly established hub within the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research, designed to meet the increasing demand for professional and entrepreneurial skills among graduate students. We aim to position the University of Regina as a trailblazer in student entrepreneurship, social innovation, and career readiness.

**What You’ll Do**:

- **Project/Event Management Maestro**:

- Spearhead the planning and execution of high-quality events such as Start-up Bootcamp, Reverse Career Fair, and the Social Innovation Summit.
- Develop comprehensive activity plans, ensuring accurate timelines, budgets, data management, and strategic objectives.
- Lead planning meetings, offering timelines and expectations, and manage project budgets effectively.
- Solve issues as they arise, maintaining GATE’s reputation through impeccable event management.
- **Communications & Marketing Maven**:

- Develop strategic marketing and communication plans to promote GATE’s upcoming opportunities.
- Engage stakeholders through effective promotion of events and initiatives.
- Manage social media channels, fostering GATE’s presence within the University and the broader community.
- Take charge of GATE’s website, ensuring it remains dynamic and up-to-date.
- Liaise directly with students, representing GATE in all communication efforts.
- **Special Projects Extraordinaire**:

- Support GATE’s strategic priorities alongside the Director.
- Collaborate with diverse stakeholders, building relationships with students, staff, faculty, and external partners.
- Coordinate professional development workshops and other initiatives to empower graduate students and postdocs.

Position Requirements

**What You Will Bring to the Position**:

- Undergraduate degree in business administration with a marketing or similar major or related field of study such as Communications or Public Relations; and
- At least 3 years events and/or related communications management experience.
- Formal training in event management and/or hospitality is an asset.

**Skills That Will Ensure Your Success in this Role**:

- Project management and organizational skills in order to properly execute events and projects.
- Budget management to prepare and review budgets as it relates to events and other activities carried out by the Coordinator.
- Exceptional communication (oral and written) skills to write reports, give presentations and build relationships.
- Proficiency with software and technology including Word, Excel, Adobe and Canva.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.

Physical Demands Pay Grade APT 4 Salary Range $62,909 to $84,893 annually Status Term Work Hours

8:15 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday

Evening and weekend work will be required for events (approximately 5 to 6 times per year)
