At our Social Concern Office, we are dedicated to making a positive impact in our community by providing essential services to those in need. We are seeking a** dynamic and compassionate Program Coordinator t**o join our team and help us achieve our mission.

As Program Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in developing and managing participant-centered programs in line with SCO policies and procedures. Reporting to the Program Manager, you will support and direct front-line staff and volunteers, ensuring they are equipped to serve SCO participants effectively. You will foster an inclusive, culturally sensitive, and welcoming environment and maintain positive relationships with community service providers. This position also provides relief coverage for the Volunteer Coordinator and Food Pantry Coordinator as necessary.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Program Development & Coordination**: Develop and coordinate participant-centered programs. Oversee volunteers and staff to ensure smooth operations and achieve program goals by providing regular support and creating necessary training tools.
- **Participant Intake & Referral Management**: Oversee and manage the intake process for new participants. Maintain and track participant referrals to ensure effective support and a continuum of care with community resources.
- **Community Relationships**: Maintain positive relationships with community service providers to ensure appropriate referrals and support for SCO participants.
- **Tax Clinic**: Ensure effective daily operation of the tax clinic, track and assign tax packages to professional volunteers, arrange pick-up and drop-off, and troubleshoot client issues.
- **Crisis Support**: Work one-on-one with clients to access crisis rent support, connect with landlords, and coordinate with external organizations. Address complex client crises by connecting them to resources such as employment assistance, counseling, or food resources.
- **Program Development & Evaluation**: Provide input into the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services in line with the Society’s strategic goals. Establish annual measurable outcomes and track progress.
- **Data Management**: Manage participant data using the Society’s software, and provide monthly reports to the Program Manager.
- **Community Surveys**: Create surveys to identify service gaps in the community and report findings to the Program Manager for program development.

**Our ideal Program Coordinator will bring the following**:

- A degree/diploma in Social Work, Human Services, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working with vulnerable populations, including families.
- Or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

**These Skills and Abilities will help you thrive**:

- Completion of Cultural Sensitivity training, or experience working in a culturally diverse environment.
- Robust knowledge of community resources and programs.
- Trauma informed, ability to de-escalate participants
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Zoom, MS Teams and Outlook.
- Crisis intervention skills, with well-developed problem-solving active listening skills and needs assessment abilities.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of this position.
- Strong team player who can work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Should be self-motivated and able to work with mínimal supervision.
- Be able to work well under pressure and with competing priorities.

**Additional Requirements**
- A criminal record check including a Ministry of Justice Vulnerable Sector Clearance
- May required some evening or weekend work.
