Your role
Reporting to the station director of Operations & Production, you will be responsible for managing, optimizing and running administrative activities related primarily to staffing and scheduling, equipment administration and budget management. You will also play a key role in implementing and using the Workday system. Lastly, some of your duties will see you support the onboarding of new employees at the station.
Duties/responsibilities:
- Design and implement administrative solutions tailored to station needs; help determine performance indicators; track projects and keep the director updated on progress.- Act as a central point of contact for employee inquiries of an administrative nature (compensation, attendance sheets, leave, benefits, etc.).- Work closely with Finance, Communications and Human Resources, ensuring the efficient flow of communication between teams.- Perform all other related administrative tasks to help managers keep station operations running optimally like the onboarding of new employees.
As part of implementing and managing the Workday system, you will be responsible for implementing, administering and co-ordinating the system at the local level. This will include the following duties:
- Develop schedules.- Approve attendance sheets and develop quality control mechanisms; track staff absences and overtime.- Ensure that all employee time cards are sent to Payroll Services.- Ensure that positions are properly coded in staff assignments.- Track changes in employment status (primary and secondary assignments, vacancies, abolished positions, etc.) and the hierarchy.- Community college diploma and four (4) or more years’ wide-ranging experience in an administrative support role- Ability to work effectively in unionized environments and a strong respect for confidentiality- Ability to work independently, be well organized and handle multiple competing priorities- Excellent interpersonal skills- Ability to resolve sensitive situations and handle material of a confidential nature.
