Sir James Douglas Out of School Club is looking for a passionate Childcare Coordinator to join our team

Working in partnership with the Director, the Childcare Coordinator will ensure the successful day-to-day operations of the center. This position requires someone who can consistently demonstrate they are approachable, empowering and playful.

The Childcare Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Director through delegated duties. The job will include administrative work as well as hands-on mentorship and support to staff. The Coordinator will ensure all OSC operations remain in conjunction with our program policies.

**Role and Responsibilities**

The Coordinator will:

- report directly to the Director
- orient new staff members
- schedule staff
- create monthly activity calendars with staff
- coordinate Pro D day and camp activities
- invoice families
- file documents and records
- maintain files/accounts for children in care
- be available to step in as a direct support to meet ratio requirements in the case of staff shortages
- ensures consistent operation of the center in the Directors absence

**Requirements**:

- a love for working directly with children
- experience working in a licensed childcare program (1 year)
- ability to set priorities and manage multiple responsibilities
- ability to maintain a strong team of 10+ childcare workers
- ability to adapt and adjust plans quickly to meet the needs of children
- ability to lead a team through difficult situations and maintain team spirit
- ability to communicate effectively and remain calm in overstimulating environments
- experience in behavioral and group management (2 years)
- First Aid & CPR level C
