The Ministry of Jobs, Economy, and Trade has an exciting opportunity and is looking for three Managers to join our team

The Ministry of Jobs, Economy and Trade (JET) enhances Alberta's competitive advantage by creating the conditions that will help more Albertans prosper. This includes delivering policies and programs that grow and diversify the economy; attracting and developing a highly skilled workforce; and promoting safe, fair and healthy workplaces. Each day, Alberta competes with jurisdictions around the world for job-creating investment.

The Economic Strategy Division at Jobs, Economy and Trade is tasked with understanding Alberta’s competitive situation in existing and emerging industries and proposing and executing policies and initiatives to make our province more competitive.

Developing a compelling business case for investors requires analytical rigour, an ability to understand the private-sector perspective and collaboration across divisions, ministries and governments. As a Manager, you will be accountable for leading a team that considers diverse and sometimes conflicting analysis, broad industry intelligence and national and global trends to strategically position our province relative to competing jurisdictions.

We are currently hiring three managers within our Economic Policy and Industry Growth Branch:

- The Manager of Strategic Economic Initiatives reports to the Director of Intergovernmental and Strategic Initiatives, and manages a team responsible for the development, integration and execution of strategies and initiatives to support economic growth, diversification, investment, and job creation in Alberta.
- The Manager of Economic Competitiveness reports to the Director of Industry Competitiveness and Policy, and provides leadership for a team that develops aligned research, analysis and option development, while delivering advice and expertise relating to competitiveness in identified industries.
- The Manager of Industry Policy reports to the Director of Industry Competitiveness and Policy, and leads a team accountable for industry strategic policy development, as well as industry program development and evaluation.
