The Vice President, Insurance is accountable for providing the vision, strategic direction, current and long-range objectives, plans, governance and risk management for CIBC Insurance in order to deliver client satisfaction, continuous strong growth and to maximize profit and return on economic capital. CIBC Insurance is responsible for the development, distribution and profitability of the product lines: (1) creditor insurance bundled with personal and business credit and (2) wellness and protection insurance including CIBC life insurance, critical illness, and accident protection.

In addition, the role will contribute to the development of products for Personal Banking including Insurance.

What You’ll be Doing- The VP, Insurance is responsible for satisfying CIBC customer protection needs by providing insurance across CIBC brands and channels.- Applies insurance expertise to optimize growing insurance sales volume with insurance risk within defined and approved risk parameters.- Influences insurance related government regulation and represents CIBC at Insurance industry associations and events.

Strategy Development- Provides leadership in the development and execution of the strategic Insurance mandate of enhancing CIBC’s overall client relationships by providing offers to meet retail and business banking clients’ protection needs. These offers are to be delivered through effective and efficient operations while maintaining an insurance risk profile in alignment with CIBC’s overall risk appetite.- Identifies and implements programs, projects and process improvements that increase profitability, enhance our clients’ experience, and drive improved operational efficiency and improve productivity.- Influences the future of the insurance industry in Canada through input into provincial and federal government regulation and represent CIBC at Insurance industry associations and events.

Product Management & Sales- Develops new and innovative insurance product offers across multiple brands designed to enhance the brand and drive increased market share, revenue and profitability.- Reviews and re-evaluates current product and policies that directly affect the quality of the insurance book and the revenue contribution.- Establishes effective partnerships across various lines of business and to manage multiple interfaces with risk management, segment, channels, legal and compliance and marketing in order to drive business results for the overall interest of CIBC and its clients.- Provide effective sales tools, support and incentives to drive industry leading sales effectiveness.- Enhances specialized direct marketing capabilities for insurance products.

Product Innovation- Leads the development and implementation of a strategic framework for the development and delivery of innovation related initiatives that will enable CIBC to become a leader in client experience.- Works in partnership across all areas of our bank to identify and deliver innovative products and services that add value for our clients and drive growth.- Establishes and maintains stakeholder, client and executive management relationships to effectively influence strategic priorities, facilitate decision making and ensure successful implementation of the specific project.- Manages high impact and multi-year projects with an overall objective to increase CIBC’s share of market, increase the acquisition of external clients and continuously improve client satisfaction and client loyalty.- Seeks approval for major strategic initiatives ensuring full understanding of the risk and benefits of each major initiative and that any inter-relationships and risks are
