**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
- Prepare food service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing stock and sauces.)
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen team.
- Report and follow the order of Executive and/or Sous chef’s instruction.
- Make sure the station is always clean.
- Make sure to document all the food waste on the waste sheet.
- Make sure to document fridge/freezer temperature log.
- Help Sous chef doing inventory.
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in timely fashion.
- Comply with nutrition, sanitation, and safety standards.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude with coworkers and customers.
**Skills/Requirements**
- Proven cooking experience including experience as a line/prep cook.
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures in the kitchen.
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
- Must possess basic knife skill.
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written, must be able to speak, read and write English.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
**Salary**: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Toronto, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
