**Job Purpose**

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Human Resources Co-op student to join our Human Resources team at the Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre. As an HR co-op student, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of human resources, contributing to the overall success of our HR department. This placement provides exposure to HR functions such as recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, training, and HR administration. In addition to supporting the MNjcc diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies, the HR Co-op student will support the HR manager in carrying out HR duties such as hiring and selection, onboarding, performance management, handling employee and supervisor concerns, and guaranteeing accurate payroll.

**Schedule Information**
- 15-20 hours per week.
- Flexible hours.
- Weekly hours shouldn’t exceed those above, but additional hours will be compensated for with equivalent lieu time off.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- **Onboarding and Offboarding**:

- Support the onboarding process for new hires, including paperwork and orientation.
- Assist in exit interviews and conduct exit procedures.
- **HR Administration**:

- Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS system.
- Assist in preparing HR-related documents, such as contracts and policies.
- **Employee Relations**:

- Address basic employee inquiries and escalate issues as needed.
- Participate in employee engagement initiatives and events.
- **Training and Development**:

- Assist in sending training and follow up diligently to maintain training records.
- **Compliance and Reporting**:

- Support HR compliance efforts by maintaining accurate records.

**Expectations**
- Confidentiality: the HR Co-op student will be privy to sensitive, private, information about MNjcc staff. It is absolutely essential that all privileged information is kept in the strictest confidence.
- Ethics and Values: the HR Co-op student should follow the ethical guidelines of the HRPA & MNjcc.

**Qualifications**
- Enrolled in a University degree or Community College diploma in Human Resources Management or equivalent, which requires a co-op placement;
- Previous Human Resources and or administrative experience (preferred);
- Intermediate/advanced competency with various Microsoft Office Suite products, including Excel and Word skills;
- Ability to act with discretion, tact and diplomacy;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills;
- Able to constantly re-prioritize work in a fast paced, service oriented environment;
- Excellent at time management and organizational skills;
**Working Conditions**
- Hybrid role

**Position Status**
- Temporary volunteer Part-Time Co-op Placement

**Duration**
- This is a four-month co-op position, with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.
