The People and Organizational Performance (POP) unit is working to build a world-class public service communications team. Aligning to OPS-wide strategies and corporate commitments the team is focused on three key priorities: to increase representation of the most under-represented groups, build a diverse talent bench, and ensure we have the right people, skills and talent needed to succeed today and tomorrow.
Focus areas include learning and development to increase overall performance, innovation and engagement, talent and succession management to ensure diverse top talent is ready for leadership now and in the future. Additionally, our unit is involved in community engagement and change management to support organizational priorities, enabling effective operations and improving communications and relationships enterprise wide. We utilize workforce data and analytics to measure performance & program effectiveness and track community health.

The Human Resources Strategies and Services Branch and has a unique service delivery model that is out of scope of the HR model employed through much of the Ontario Public Service (OPS). We provide strategic HR consultation and advice to Cabinet Office (CO) and Premier's Office (PO) leaders in all areas of Human Resources including HR Administration & Advisory Services; Recruitment & Strategic Talent Initiatives; Organizational Design; Workforce Management & Planning; Talent Management; Employee Engagement; Diversity & Inclusion; Learning & Development; Strategic Labour Relations; Health, Safety & Wellness and Transformation & Change Management. We work collaboratively with our clients to develop and implement people strategies to enable the Ministry achievement of government priorities and business objectives. At the centre of our people strategies is our North Star drawing the branch's core business lines together - the CO People Plan.
