**Position Title**:SWEL Residence Life Manager**

**Status**: FT Admin

**Hours**:37.5 hours per week, 9:00-5:30pm

**Faculty/Department**:Student Wellness and Equitable Learning (SWEL)

**Campus/Location**: This position will be preliminarily based out of the North Campus (3 days/week) and at least 1 day at Lakeshore Campus with flexibility for 1 remote day/week.

**Salary**: Minimum Starting salary/step $93.705.00

**About the Student Wellness and Equitable Learning Dept at Humber**:
The Student Wellness and Equitable Learning (SWEL) department is dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where every student can thrive. The cross-functional team includes Student Connection and Community Care, Residence Life and Education, Accessible Learning Services, Mental Health and Counselling, Clinical Services, and Wellness Education and Programs. The SWEL team offer pan-college services across all Humber College/University of Guelph-Humber campuses.

**About the Manager, Residence Life Role**:
Reporting to the Director of Operations, Student Wellness and Equitable Learning (SWEL), the Manager, Residence Life (RLM) is responsible for strategic development and direct implementation and management of all aspects the Residence Life program (North and Lakeshore Campuses) for a residence population of approximately 2000+ students. This includes:

- Supervise and manage (day-to-day or performance based) the Residence Life Leadership Team, which includes Residence Life Coordinators, Lead Coordinator for Residence Life and Education, and Lead Coordinator for Residence Life and Community Care.
- Implement programs and services that directly impact the student experience and the strategic cyclic planning of the same.
- Connect residence to broader SWEL services on a regular basis.
- Oversight of student conduct and crisis intervention, hiring and training programs for all Residence Life Staff (47 FTE).
- Oversight of a budget of approximately $700,000 annually.

The RLM is part of an interdependent and collaborative team (within SWEL and alongside the Residence Operations team) committed to integrating the student's voice and connecting research and evaluation to our practice to continuously build on our understanding of students’ wants and needs as well as how living environments contribute to student success and belonging.

Working closely with SWEL and the broader Student Success and Engagement (SSE) teams, the RLM will integrate key components of larger strategic frameworks (i.e., SWEL Curriculum: Healthy Community Framework, College Strategic Plan; broadly: Okanagan Charter, Canadian Mental Health Standard) into programs within the Residence Life portfolio to ensure a seamless, caring, and holistic student living and learning experience. SWEL’s curricular approach facilitates the design and delivery of experiences and services so that students achieve priority developmental and educational outcomes.

This is an off-campus role that participates in a residence-wide On-call program to support timely responses to behavioral issues, complex mental health concerns, emergencies, and crisis situations, incidences of sexual violence, and student death. The incumbent will be closely connected with the College’s Student Support and Intervention Team to ensure effective, non-clinical case management related to students of concern within the residence, assessing and mitigating risk for violence and enabling collaborative consultation across functional unit teams.
