We currently have an exciting opportunity for a **Safety Advisor**, located on-site at our K+S Bethune, Saskatchewan site. The Safety Advisor will provide support in the Safety, Health, and Environmental areas in an effort to prevent and mitigate employee injuries and illnesses. The Safety Advisor will assist site and field management to promote effective safety programs and will ensure the company remains in compliance with governmental regulations, customer requirements, and related company policies and procedures.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Perform field observations, audits and inspections to identify hazards and improvements at the workplace;
- Investigate and document incidents involving company property, employees, or sub contractors;
- Coordinate transportation of injured or ill employees to medical facilities. May work with medical providers and AlumaSafway’s Risk Management Department to ensure the procedure requirements of the AlumaSafway’s return to work program are followed;
- Facilitate, document, and ensure all employees receive the company’s and customer’s required safety training;
- Assist with safety meetings and conduct training programs for employees;
- Compile management reports and assist with recordkeeping requirements;
- Administer the emergency response procedures for AlumaSafway employees at the site;
- Participate in safety initiatives, meetings and programs as required by the customer;
**QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS**:

- NCSO designation required;
- Minimum of 2-4 years of safety experience with previous experience in the construction/ manufacturing industry;
- Requires the ability to climb structural stairs and ladders and scaffold and enter confined spaces on job sites;
- Working knowledge and understanding of current construction and general industry safety regulations and the ability to analyze and interpret this data for the safety of employees, job sites, and the branch;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, utilize judgment, and work with mínimal supervision;
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as strong organization and time management skills
