We are currently seeking a **_Health, Safety, Environment & Training Advisor _**based out of our Head Office in Saskatoon.

The HSET Advisor, is genuinely driven by a safety mindset, and in leading our teams at HPL to be incident and injury
- free, every day. The advisor will initiate, train, mentor, monitor, and ensure compliance, targeted at achieving _Mission Zero. _

In addition to frequent on-site crew and subcontractor inspections, investigating incidents, as well as reviewing incidents, near misses and good catches, conducting internal and external COR audits, the HSET Advisor will also recommend preventative and corrective action items.

**Responsibilities & Accountabilities**
- Initiate and follow-up with employee compliance as to processes targeted at implementing the _Mission: Zero_ initiative.
- Lead and investigate Incidents thoroughly identifying root cause and appropriate corrective action items.
- Review Incident, Near Misses and Good Catches
- Attend Hazard Aspect and Risk Assessment Meetings
- Attend Project start up meetings.
- Conduct frequent on-site crew and subcontractor inspections.
- Conduct new hire safety orientation, along with Human Resources.
- Assist with Safety Meetings.
- Enforce the Occupational Health and Safety Acts and Regulations.
- Research questions and concerns for employees regarding Health, Safety, Environment and Training as well as best practices and approved work methods.
- Perform health and safety audits on all company practices and facilities.
- Participate in emergency response tests and serve as a resource during reviews of emergency response.
- Assist with other HSET duties as requested and required.

**Experience, Skills & Qualifications**
- Must be a permanent resident of Canada and communicate fluently and clearly, in English.
- Criminal record check
- A minimum of two () years of related Occupational Health, Safety and Training experience.
- A minimum of one (1) year experience related to COR Standards.
- High School Diploma, or equivalent, is required.
- Completed or working towards a safety certification/ designation ex. NCSO
- Completed or working towards a COR auditor certificate.
- Powerline Technician experience an asset. (Red Seal Powerline Technician Certificate preferred.)
- Heavy Construction experience an Asset.
- Knowledge of relevant Occupational Health & Safety Acts and Regulations
- Experience with the Certificate of Recognition Standard
- Experience with managed safety system requirements
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Strong computer skills including MS Office365 - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related platforms
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision as well as in a team environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability work with employees at all levels
- Ability to work with direction and guidance from multiple sources.
- Ability to instruct and mentor others, using prominent facilitation skills and a good understanding of adult learning principles.

**Working Conditions**
- Field work under harsh weather conditions
- Combination of indoor office and field work
- Overnight and extended travel as required.
- Extended working hours including evenings and weekend work.
