**Position Overview**
Intent of the Human Experience Manager role is to implement and sustain the Butterfly-informed culture of emotion based person centered care in the home by:
- _being an advocate and catalyst for resident quality of life_, identifying roadblocks & working with all levels of team members to overcome them;
- _being a role model _for person centered behavior (conduct) in their every interaction - _actively and positively influencing_ the conduct of others through the same;
- _ensuring emotional wellbeing of residents is held as high as clinical outcomes,_ employing appropriate risk management methods;
- _training all team members (managers and frontline) _on the culture of emotion-based person centered care and helping grow team member competencies;
- _gauging the wellbeing of team members and advocating for the same_, identifying roadblocks & working with all levels of team members to overcome them;
- _partnering with Resident & Family Councils, other committees within the home and all third party caregivers _to advance resident quality of life;
- _nurturing and mentoring Butterfly (or HX) Champions_ as these take foot in our homes.
**Qualifications**
- Prior experience as Butterfly Implementation Project leader - or a peer in the accredited Butterfly home who has demonstrated active involvement & knowledge during the project
- Demonstrated grasp of QUIS (Quality of Interactions Schedule) technique and emotion-based person centered role modeling
- Experience and background in social service and/or recreation
- Social Worker degree or Recreational diploma - or equivalent
- High energy individual, able to influence others by example and personal leadership
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Work to an approved plan, organize associated activities without supervisor prompts and execute them with limited supervisor involvement and close team member collaboration;
- Coordinate Home Leadership team and frontline team members and meet accreditation project timelines and deliverables;
- Role-model emotion-based person-centeredness towards residents & team members;
- Train audiences with regard to MCM Butterfly training materials and all associated content;
- Lead by personal influence: directly influence peers, subordinates and all parties to achieve desired outcomes - with mínimal recourse to Supervisor intervention;
- Escalate concerns on an as-needed and timely basis, with consideration as to how to address the same;
- Perform emotional risk assessments using the MCM framework, working collaboratively with all required parties;
- Exercise emotional maturity and intelligence - as required by the role;
- Accurately self-assess areas of personal strength & opportunity, take action on the latter including by coaching and mentoring relations.
- To show evidence of being focused on people’s feelings when interacting and knowing how to turn a task into positive social interaction.
- To undertake and meet all legal requirements within a context of promoting individuals’ rights and measuring/reducing elements of risk.
- Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
- Two supervisory references required
- COVID-19 vaccination is a condition of employment
- **French speaking an asset**
**Responsibilities**
- Deliver ongoing training
- Personally perform 2 hours of observations per week - on rotation to cover all home areas and shifts; with immediate feedback (strengths & opportunities) to team members via role modeling
- Support the home’s Quality Leader, whose responsibility remains to:
- Lead QUIS for the home & ensure observations are completed by a road range of managers and some frontline team members
- Ensure those performing QUIS observations provide immediate feedback (strengths & opportunities) to team members via role modeling
- Tally up scores from QUIS
- Lead improvement actions with leadership and all team members
Provide Managers & EDs feedback and coaching on emotion-based person centered leadership:
- Evaluate emotion-based person centered leadership of Managers and EDs
- Monthly coaching during management team meetings - via role playing
- Provide one-on-one follow up w/ managers as needed
Be the Resident Advocate for Move-Ins:
- Resident & family advocate for first 6 weeks of move-in
- Introduction to resident & family on day 1
- Prepare resident All About Me w/ Programs Leade
