We are a company specialized in Global Payment Solutions located in the Financial **core downtown Toronto**, seeking a skilled and motivated **System Administrator** to join our team. You will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our IT infrastructure, ensuring smooth operations of both **desktop **and **server systems**. While the role is primarily office-based, there will be occasional opportunities to work from home.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Manage and support a wide range of **desktop **and **server systems**, products, and technologies critical to the financial industry.
- Administer and maintain **Windows **and **Linux **operating systems (both for workstations and servers) to ensure secure and efficient operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve **Network-related** issues and ensure secure data flow in compliance with financial sector regulations.
- Assist users with all IT-related questions and issues, ensuring mínimal downtime and operational efficiency.
- Support, configure, and maintain servers, network infrastructure, and storage systems.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes.
- Monitor and improve system performance while ensuring the security and compliance of all systems and data.
**Preferred Skills and Experience**
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems for desktops and servers.
- Experience with networking technologies (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, firewalls, VPNs) in a financial environment.
- Linux administration and programming (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.) experience is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, XEN, etc.).
- Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Previous experience in the financial services industry is highly desirable.

**Education & Certifications**
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
