We are looking for an experienced IT/Systems Administrator to join the growing team at our Toronto office This position is a hands-on, tactical role responsible for the day-to-day operations and support of Multi-Tech's information and communication infrastructure. This includes the installation, configuration, documentation and ongoing maintenance, monitoring, and support of the company’s workstations (laptops/desktops), network devices, servers, and storage systems in accordance with information technology strategic vision.

**WHAT YOU'LL DO**:

- Main point of contact for IT related issues in the Toronto office.
- Provide support for Mounds View projects and other company related IT initiatives.
- Provides help desk support and specialized technical assistance to system users, escalating issues, as necessary.
- Administers IT onboarding of new hires, including creating user accounts, preparing new computers, instructing users on proper use of hardware, software, and system security.
- Administers IT off-boarding of existing employees including removing security access to systems, collect and reimage computers and other equipment assets.
- Create and maintain inventory of IT equipment, such as desktops, laptops, mobile devices, etc.
- Manage user system accounts and security in accordance with IT Security Policies.
- Create and maintain desktop, printer, and mobile device asset lists to ensure that hardware is replaced on a schedule.
- Procure IT equipment, server and storage resources as needed.
- Maintain server templates with current releases and inform management of any resource deficiencies anticipated based on usage and trends.
- Provide Administration of Office 365, Exchange, Windows server, Linux, and Windows desktop operating systems.
- Configure network services such as: DHCP, DNS, Active Directory (AD), VLANs, and VPN.
- Provision and configure managed switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and other IOT devices.
- Monitor and maintain perimeter security and current systems.
- Monitor and maintain desktop, laptop, and mobile device security.
- Evaluate, install, test, and recommend modern technologies that increase productivity, quality, and improve the customer-service experience.
- Monitor and maintain storage, backup power (UPS), cooling, and power generation systems.
- Follow process and change management controls established by IT management.
- Provide network and remote connectivity hardware/software support; analyze network logs, troubleshoot, and track issues that need to be resolved and corrected.
- Monitor server and network usage to ensure data security, access privileges, and software updates and patches are applied to servers, switches, and other devices in accordance with defined schedules.
- Perform scheduled network tasks such as monitoring system backups, testing backups, server disk space, storage cluster health, load-balancing, and failover scenarios.
- Increase technical knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, growing personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.

**EDUCATION**:

- 2-year degree in IT or equivalent experience and technical skills training
- Technician Certificate, A+ Certification or equivalent experience and technical skills training
- A Network Administration Certificate (MCSE, MCSA, CompTIA) desired

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting business networks.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in all areas of local and wide area networks design, implementation, and administration.
- 3 - 5 years administration of servers, routers, switches, firewalls, Active Directory, POE switches, wireless networks, and remote client connectivity (VPN), IPSEC tunnels and DNS/Domain management, cabling, battery backups, and other miscellaneous technology.
- 2 - 5 years’ hands-on experience supporting Microsoft servers and desktop computers.
- 2 years supporting Microsoft Exchange Server.
- 1 - 2 years’ experience with Server and Storage virtualization (VMware vSphere EMC VNXe).
- Working knowledge of Linux operating systems (RedHat and Ubuntu)
- Working knowledge of Telecom/PBX/VOIP - including digital and analog circuits.
