**Position purpose**:
**Reporting to the Team Lead, Professional Development**:
Supports all members of the University of Ottawa’s student population by providing career development and experiential learning initiatives and resources, job market information, by teaching employability skills and essential competencies.

**In this role you will**:
Research and propose career tools and resources to help students with finding a job in their field, a program-related experiential learning opportunity, being hired for jobs or improving their networking strategies.
Advise clientele on career self-management including work search strategies, labour market research and the evaluation of further education options. Assist in the development of Canadian and international job search strategies.
Identify, inform and guide students in their progression through Career Development programs (such as CO-OP) especially those encountering difficulties with the job search process. Knowledge of the various programs, condition, and particularities of faculties of the University of Ottawa.
Develop and facilitate customized Brightspace modules, workshops, and webinars for groups of students of various sizes, tailored to specific academic programs and/or specific needs (e.g., students with a disability). Deliver in-class presentations related to competencies, employability skills, employment and experiential learning (e.g., resume writing, interview skills, career planning, job search strategies, and career preparation strategies).

**What you will bring**:

- Bachelor’s degree, Master an asset or other relevant disciplines with a specialization in psychology
- Three years’ experience in career development or a similar role.
- Experience in developing and delivering workshops and presentations.
- Knowledge of labour market conditions, occupations, and professions, as well as education options in Ontario, Canada and abroad.
- Comprehensive knowledge of confidentiality, informed consent and accessibility principles
- Demonstrated commitment to multicultural issues. Skills in interacting with persons of diverse backgrounds.
- Strong team and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with various stakeholders (faculty and services).
- Ability to deal with conflicting priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
- Membership/certification in a professional association (asset).
- Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) certification (asset).
- Bilingualism - French and English (spoken and written)
