Cottage Dream Vacations (CDV) is a dynamic hospitality company headquartered in Whitby, dedicated to building and managing five-star cottage resorts across Canada. In addition, we own a real estate training company, a cedar hot tub manufacturer and a gold mining operation.
This key position will be supporting and reporting to the EVP of Hospitality. Join us on our exciting journey as we change the landscape of hospitality and real estate education in Canada
**Your responsibilities will include**:
IT Infrastructure & Server Management
- Plan, design, and implement server setups (on-premise and cloud-based) to meet the business's operational needs.
- Set up and manage an in-house server room, ensuring data security and uptime.
- Manage the maintenance, upgrades, and scaling of IT infrastructure, including networks, databases, and storage systems.
Software & Systems Integration
- Work closely with various teams to identify requirements and ensure software integrations are efficient, reliable, and scalable.
- Implement automation workflows to streamline business processes across systems.
Database Management
- Manage the development and administration of in-house databases, ensuring they are optimized for performance and scalability.
- Ensure data security protocols are followed, and backup solutions are in place for disaster recovery.
ERP Setup & Management
- Lead the design and implementation of an ERP system tailored to the company’s operational needs, integrating it with CRM, financial, and operational systems.
- Ensure the ERP system provides accurate real-time data on all aspects of the business, from inventory to finance.
Process Automation & Workflow Optimization
- Analyze current business processes and design automated workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Work closely with departments to ensure all teams are using tools and processes that align with company goals.
App Integration & Management
- Ensure that customer-facing and employee-facing apps operate efficiently, integrating with CRM, ERP, and other core systems.
Security & Compliance
- Develop and enforce security protocols to protect the company’s data and systems.
- Ensure the company complies with data protection regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, or other relevant regulations.
Project Management
- Lead IT and software projects, from conception through deployment, to ensure successful completion within scope, budget, and timelines.
- Collaborate with external vendors, consultants, and stakeholders for any third-party software or infrastructure-related tasks.
Team Leadership
- Manage a small team of IT professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
- Ensure that the team follows best practices in system administration, integration, and security.
**Knowledge Requirements**:
- 5+ years experience in IT - 2+ years in a leadership capacity preferred.
- IT Infrastructure: Expertise in setting up and managing physical and cloud servers (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure).
- Process Workflows: In-depth knowledge of business process automation and optimization techniques.
- Database Management : Proficient in database architecture and management, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
- ERP Systems: Proven experience in setting up and maintaining ERP platforms, ensuring cross-departmental workflows are integrated.
- Cybersecurity: Strong understanding of IT security best practices, including data encryption, user access management, and backup solutions.
- Networking: Knowledge of local and wide-area networks, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancing.
**Software Proficiencies**:
- Server & Cloud Management: AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Linux/Windows Servers.
- CRM Systems: HubSpot, Salesforce, GoHighLevel, or similar.
- ERP Software: SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
- Database Management: SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar.
- Process Automation Tools: Zapier, Integromat, Power Automate.
- Network & Security Tools: Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or other network management systems.
- Project Management Tools: Jira, Trello, Asana, or similar.
**Desired Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT systems management, software integration, and process automation.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing and managing CRM and ERP systems.
- Experience in project management and leading IT-related projects from concept to completion.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex IT issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- Leadership and team management skills to guide and mentor junior IT staff.
