As Manager, Nursing Resource Team (NRT) and Patient Flow (Internal), you will have operational accountability for the Nursing Resource Team (over 200 staff, involving 4 unions and 3 sites), as well as Patient Flow within the 3 acute sites at UHN.

Job Responsibilities:

- Manage the NRTs human and financial resources maintaining optimal staffing levels to maximize fill rate and manage budget; develop and implement short
- and long-term plans which support and advance unit, site, and/or corporate strategic priorities.
- Accountable to manage Agency contracts for nursing and PSWs, and Agency relationships for UHN.
- Manage and continuously improve our Capacity Management approach across all sites with a focus on getting patients in the right place, at the right time, leveraging flow and NRT resources to support units and programs.
- Lead development of, implementation and management of the Patient Flow and NRTs quality improvement initiatives supporting organizational strategies.
- Promote and continue to build a motivated and cohesive team and supports educational strategies to enhance staff knowledge, in keeping with institutional vision and mission.
- Develop strategies and change management approaches to optimize the use of epic and develop a data driven approach within your portfolio.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Licensed with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) or other Ontario regulated healthcare profession, you have a Master's degree.
- You have at least five (5) years relevant experience in healthcare leadership, clinical and/or specialty field, including three (3) to five (5) years supervisory/management expertise
- Experience with Patient Flow, would be a valuable asset
- Person-centred approach to leadership and able to excel in a diverse, unionized and non-unionized work environment to support and develop staff.
- Data driven approach to understanding and improving practice and care delivery.
- You will have successfully demonstrated your initiative, judgment and leadership skills through previous projects
- Your organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills will be a prominent part of your success in recognizing, analyzing and resolving problems before and as they arise
- Your proven ability to work effectively and with composure under pressure/or stressful conditions and to meet multiple and competing deadlines will be critical in this position
- Excellent problem recognition and problem solving skills, change oriented.
- Exceptional written communication skills with effective group presentation abilities; proven ability to present information to all levels, including senior management.
- Vaccines (COVID and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
