**The Opportunity**:Physical Literacy is the motivation, confidence, physical competence, knowledge and understanding to value and take responsibility for engagement in physical activities. Based on the unequivocal evidence of the importance of physical activity, the CSFS Physical Literacy Coordinator (PLC), will be positioned with the CSFS Primary Care and Rehabilitation Teams. Dedicated to advancing Physical Literacy (activity) in CSFS Communities, the PLC will provide high-quality physical literacy promotion and education through developed programs and services in each CSFS community. Programming will be offered for all ages through family focused activity with a specific focus on children, youth, students, families and young developing athletes, in a variety of settings including; daycares, schools, community sport and recreation programs.
- ** Building capacity for Physical Literacy by strengthening capacity through the development of fundamental movement, recreation, play and sport skills among children, youth, families and all ages in the community.**:

- ** Work directly with CSFS staff to help develop physical literacy components for all service delivery areas including, Physical Activity, Healthy & Active Living, Social & Community Health and Mental Well-Being**:

- ** Work directly with Band recreation staff as educational support to enhance and build sport, recreational and play based physical activity programs**:

- ** Collaborate with CSFS day care and school aged programs to enhance and build physical activity programs, particularly in support of Physical Literacy learning, mentorship, and professional growth.**:

- ** Work with CSFS rehabilitation and other offered programs/sites to build physical literacy capacity of each program.**:

- ** Work in conjunction with the CSFS Healing the Healers to develop age appropriate activity programs and to consult on land based physical literacy program development**:

- ** Incorporate the five R’s of restorative approaches - relationship, respect, responsibility, repair, integration - into program design. Program design will include activities ranging from organized team sports to recreational activities to free play inclusive of both group & individual activities. Special consideration to be given to land based traditional activities; hunting, fishing, trapping, berry picking, medicine harvesting.**:

- ** Promotion of healthy eating and meal planning, with attention to healthy traditional sources of nutrition**

**What You Will Bring to The Role**:

- ** Valid BC Teaching Certificate (preferred) or**:

- ** Undergraduate degree or higher (or equivalent) in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Occupational therapy, Physical Therapy or Rehabilitation science**:

- ** Willingness to participate in sport based coaching certification (example ISPARC)**:

- ** 3 years’ experience in a related role**:

- ** Experience working with children and adults who have multiple needs is an asset**
