Mechanical / Plumbing Estimator

We are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Estimator to join our team and contribute to our continued success.
Position Overview: As a Mechanical/Plumbing Estimator at Ladouceur Mechanical, you will play a crucial role in our project development process by accurately estimating costs and preparing competitive bids for various Plumbing, Sheetmetal and/or HVAC commercial and industrial projects.
**Responsibilities include**:
- Review and analyze tender documents, blueprints, specifications, and other project-related materials.
- Collaborate with General Contractors, clients and engineering teams to understand project requirements and scope.
- Utilize estimating software to create detailed and accurate estimates for plumbing, HVAC, and/or sheet metal components.
- Prepare comprehensive estimates, considering materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and other relevant factors.
- Research and source accurate pricing for materials and equipment from suppliers and vendors.
- Coordinate price packages with suppliers and subcontractors
- Maintain a strong understanding of industry standards, codes, and regulations to ensure compliance in all estimates.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project conditions and challenges.
- Attend site meetings to gather project scope, information and measurements for design and build projects
- Contribute to bid strategy discussions, offering insights into cost-saving measures and value engineering options.
- Prepare and submit completed bids within established deadlines.
**Qualifications**:
- Previous experience as a Mechanical / Plumbing Estimator in the commercial and industrial construction sector
- Proficiency in using Trimble AutoBid or similar software for estimation an asset (training available)
- In-depth knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, and/or sheet metal systems, materials, and installation methods.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with acute attention to detail.
- Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing mechanical systems.
- Experience working in the trade or relevant experience is a plus.
- Educational background in mechanical engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory
