The Director, Accounting, Budgeting and Reporting is responsible overseeing the financial reporting for the Ministry of Finance. This will include providing a broad range of financial management services, advice, and expertise to supported clients, typically involving significant accounting expertise. This role will also oversee the team implementing the internal controls framework for the Ministry. This position would be well suited to someone with significant experience in financial reporting and a strong understanding of internal controls.

**Job Requirements**:

- Degree and 5 years of progressively relevant financial management experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience working with the Financial Administration Act and the Budget Transparency and Accountability Act.
- Experience working with complex accounting issues in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with financial planning, management, accounting issues and budget cycles.
- Experience preparing and presenting financial information to facilitate executive decision making.
- Experience managing a team of accounting professionals.
- Preference may be given to applicants with a professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA).
- Preference may be given to applicants with experience implementing, improving, and/or testing internal controls.

**About this Position**:
This is a temporary opportunity until September 15, 2025.
A permanent appointment may result from this temporary appointment.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
This position is excluded from union membership.
