**Summary of Duties**:
The General Manager of Lil’wat Services is responsible for the overall oversight of five Lil’wat departments: Lil’wat Health and Healing, Lil’wat Community Social Services, Ts’zil, Language and Culture, Community Programs and Community Development. The GM is responsible for working with Department Directors to maximize the amount and quality of services to Lil’wat citizens. This includes providing leadership, financial management, programming, and strategy development and execution.

**Key Deliverables and Expectations**:
- Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with laws, plans, policies, standards, and procedures, and as directed by the CAO.
- Maintains confidentiality on all matters related to the affairs of the Lí?wat Nation.
- Manages the overall operating, project, and administrative affairs of the various departments in accordance with the approved Vision, Mission and Value Statements of the Lí?wat Nation.
- Complies with related Federal and Provincial Laws / Statutes and Regulations.
Leadership
- Provides leadership to the Program / Department Senior Management, in the planning, development, and management of the Administration, Program / Department, Project, Financial and Operating affairs of the Community Services programming.
- Support the CAO in the development, approval, and management of Five (5) Year and Annual Community, Department, Program, Service, and Capital Project Plans as required.
- Supervises, coaches, and evaluates the performance of employees with a direct reporting relationship to the GM of Community Social Services, including the development and administration of individual employee training and development plans.
- Integrates department services through the use of cross-functional teams, a case-based management approach, or other solutions.
Chiefs and Council
- Provides support to the CAO in enhancing and sustaining a high quality of life through wellness and culture and in utilizing and preserving Lí?wat Nation resources and customs.
- Brings forward significant issues, through the CAO, to Chiefs and Council for consideration including projects, policies, and others.
- Attends and participates in meetings of the Chiefs and Council and Community meetings.
Financial Management
- Provides leadership, direction, and support in the overall planning, development, review, management, and operating financial management affairs for the community services departments.
- Monitors the financial affairs and operations of the Community Services departments and provides regular and financial reports to the CAO.
Community Development and Relations
- Ensures information is provided for Lí?wat Nation members to keep them informed of community development initiatives, programs, Lí?wat Nation services, policies, and employment and business opportunities
- Ensures that the Lí?wat Nation members have the opportunity to share their views, concerns and needs relative to new or continuous programs, services and initiatives of the Lí?wat Nation.
- Works with the Community Services Advocate and/or Navigator to ensure clear communications and maximum service to Lil’wat citizens.
- Perform other related duties as requested.
**Experience and Attributes**:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, Public Administration or other related Discipline OR equivalent formal related Post-Secondary Education, Certifications and Experience
- Minimum 7 to 10 (7-10) years experience in public - local administration with at least Five (5) years experience in an executive - senior management position
- Experience managing the development and administration of related formal Strategies, Plans and Policies
- Experience in the review and development of First Nation rights, title and self-governance
- Experience working with related Federal and Provincial Government Agencies and Organizations
- Knowledge of Lílwat Nation culture, values, traditions and language
- Awareness and understanding of indigenous government in relation to inherent rights, title and responsibilities
- Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines prioritizes assignments, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Highly professional in all aspects of business, presentation and interaction with all stakeholders, clients, and Members.
