**Position Description**:

Performs clerical duties required to support the Sleep Program, a division of Firestone Ambulatory Clinic. Duties include full utilization of EPIC, demonstrated ability to perform reception, registration, and booking of patient appointments, answering telephones, relaying messages, booking patients for various lab tests and doctor visits, typing of lab reports and correspondence, filing, and other related clerical duties. Duties further include coordinating patient appointments across the Firestone Ambulatory Clinic and other duties assigned by Supervisor and or Manager.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- 2-year post-secondary diploma in medical office administration from an accredited school is required
- Two years of related office experience in a high-volume Outpatient Clinic required
- Two plus years' experience with an electronic health record system is an asset
- Basic skill level for MS Word, Excel, Typing, and Medical Terminology required
- Intermediate skill level for spelling and medical spelling required
- Clerical testing may be required as part of the selection process
- Knowledge of the Department of Respirology, Sleep Lab is an asset
- Applicants must have demonstrated an ability to accept responsibility, plan, prioritize, and complete tasks with mínimal supervision. Must be able to perform effectively both independently and as a team member
- Familiarity with professional billing systems and accounting principles an asset
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be able to set own priorities, ensuring patient and customer service is of utmost importance
- Highly developed organizational and prioritization skills required to manage multiple urgent and routine demands
- Excellent work performance and attendance record is essential
- A major component of the position is the ability to function calmly and efficiently in a friendly manner, completing multiple tasks and providing customer service. Effective, tactful, and confidential communication in person and on the telephone is essential
**WAGE RATE**
Hourly: $26.11.... $27.24... $28.38 (plus 14% in lieu of benefits)
