Lift Legal is looking to hire a full-time legal assistant to join our friendly and collaborative boutique firm in St. Albert. We practice Corporate Law, Residential Real Estate, Wills and Estates and non-litigation Collaborative Family Law and Mediation. You would report directly to Mel Garbe. Mel is an experienced family lawyer and mediator who is committed to helping his clients handle legal issues respectfully and constructively, with mínimal court involvement.

**Duties and Responsibilities/Position Overview**:

- Administrative tasks including file management and organization; drafting routine correspondence related to family law matters, data entry, preparing legal documents, maintaining conflicts database, and client relationship management;
- Drafting and filing divorce documents;
- Organizing and understanding financial disclosure, preparing first drafts of Property Statements;
- Calendar management including coordinating and scheduling of meetings and mediations;
- Communicating with other legal assistants, paralegals, lawyers and clients on file progress both internally and externally

**Requirements**:

- Post Secondary Diploma or Certificate from an accredited school;
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a law office;
- An understanding of the basic principles and practice of family law;
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of a wide range of practice & software technology used in a typical legal environment such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Adobe;
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills;
- Experience in Wills and Estates and/or a desire to learn would be considered an asset.

Salary will be commensurate with skills and experience.
