Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Group Sales Manager is accountable for the achievement or overachievement of room night and revenue goals, solicitation activity, lead development and negotiation of group business for the Chelsea Hotel. A Group Sales Manager will be assigned to a specific market (University, Native, Government; Group Corporate; Group Association; SMERF, Travel Trade).

- Determines and actively solicit deemed prospective customers garnered from existing market information and resources.
Develops and maintain prioritized customer accounts and prospecting mailing lists.
Solicits, prospects, and develops leads and quotes.
Generates and presents proposals and contracts.
Negotiates group bookings within established parameters.
Independently generates new business and revenue objectives outlined in the action plans.
Prepares and presents tailored presentations for prospective clients.
Entertains potential and existing clients.

- Attends and participates in related business activities, out-of-town sales trips and trade shows as required.
Participates in an annual incentive plan - based on achievement of activities and revenue goals.

- Coaches and counsels Sales Coordinator to maximize productivity.

Highly visible with an accommodating attitude at all times.
Performs other tasks and projects as assigned by Management.
Requirement
- **_Working Experience_**
**_ _**
Minimum of 2 years experience as a seller in hospitality, preferably hotels.
- Positive attitude and supportive, team based approach towards the attainment of the hotel's goals.
- **_Knowledge_**
**_ _**
Computer literacy (Delphi, Word, Excel).
- Ability to understand and interpret financial data.
- **_Education_**
**_ _**
Bachelors Degree and/or Hotel Management Degree preferred
- **_Soft Skills_**
**_ _**
Highly focused ‘hunter’ working towards accomplishing monthly quotas linking sales activities, room night generation and new business leads.
- Must be results oriented with ability to be flexible.
- **_Language_**
**_ _**
Excellent written and verbal communication skills essential.
- **_Physical Requirements_**
**_ _**
Ability to travel and work flexible hours and days.
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
